CAF unveils new trophy for CHAN 2024 with Wanyama, Onyango and Ngasa leading the reveal

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the new trophy for the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN), PAMOJA 2024. The symbolic reveal featured three celebrated football icons from the host nations: Victor Wanyama of Kenya, Denis Onyango of Uganda, and Mrisho Ngasa of Tanzania.
The unveiling, delivered through a specially-produced video, comes just days before the tournament’s grand kick-off. Scheduled to run from August 2 to August 30, 2025, the tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, marking a historic first for East Africa and for CHAN.

More than just a new silverware design, the trophy represents a bold new identity for the tournament under the "PAMOJA" banner, which means "together" in Swahili. This rebrand is intended to reflect the rich cultural heritage, shared passion, and growing stature of African football on the global stage.
Crafted with a sleek, modern aesthetic, the trophy is a striking blend of gold and silver, symbolising both the prestige of the tournament and the evolving dynamism of African football.
One of its most distinctive features is a ring of 54 etched lines, each representing one of CAF’s member associations. At its heart, the trophy bears a map of Africa, a reminder that this is a tournament rooted in continental unity and pan-African pride.
